Can I work and get Universal Credit?

Yes. Work does not bar Universal Credit. Wages reduce the payment after a work allowance, if one applies. If the wages use up the whole award, the claim can stay open at nil so it can restart when pay falls.

  • Put the take-home pay on the check. The result is a band, not a decision.
  • Self-employed earnings are reported differently. The catalogue does not run the minimum income floor.
