Can I get Child Benefit if someone earns over £60,000?
Yes. Child Benefit can still be claimed. A High Income Child Benefit Charge may take some or all of it back through tax. The claim is still worth making, because it protects National Insurance credits.
- The check records a tick for a household income over £60,000. It does not calculate the charge.
- Only one person can get Child Benefit for a child.
- In Scotland, Scottish Child Payment is extra. It is not a replacement for Child Benefit.
