How much is PIP?

PIP has two parts, and each is paid at a standard or an enhanced rate. On the GOV.UK rates page the weekly amounts are £76.70 or £114.60 for daily living, and £30.30 or £80 for mobility. The most for both parts together is £194.60 a week. Savings and wages do not change the amount.

  • Daily living and mobility are worked out separately. You can be paid one part and not the other.
  • These are the figures on GOV.UK. Check that page before you rely on a yearly total.

The four rates

Daily living standard is £76.70 a week. Daily living enhanced is £114.60 a week. Mobility standard is £30.30 a week. Mobility enhanced is £80 a week.

Eight points in a part pays the standard rate. Twelve points in that same part pays the enhanced rate. Points from daily living are not added to points from mobility.

What does not change the amount

PIP is not means-tested. Income, savings and rent are not the test. Working does not stop it.

A diagnosis does not set the rate. The rate follows how the 12 tasks are affected on more than half of days.

Who this rate is for

A new claim is for a person aged 16 to State Pension age in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. Scotland uses Adult Disability Payment for a new claim.

In the quarter to July 2026, 4.1 million people in England and Wales were entitled to PIP, and 37% had the enhanced rate of both parts.
