Answers · Question
PIP or Disability Living Allowance for a child?
A child under 16 in England, Wales or Northern Ireland claims Disability Living Allowance, not PIP. In Scotland the new claims go to Child Disability Payment. PIP is for adults aged 16 to State Pension age.
- Attendance Allowance, or Pension Age Disability Payment in Scotland, is the pension-age route.
- None of these are means-tested. A disability tick on the check is not an award.
