What is the Universal Credit savings limit?
£16,000. Savings at or over £16,000 usually stop Universal Credit. Savings over £6,000 and under £16,000 reduce the monthly payment. The home you live in is not counted as savings.
- The check applies that stop and a tariff between the two lines. It does not value a second property or money held for you by someone else.
- Pension Credit does not use this £16,000 stop. Do not copy the Universal Credit rule onto a pension-age claim.
